frugal date friday

Y’all, it is officially looking like fall in the south. The leaves are a million beautiful colors, so this is the perfect time to enjoy the beauty of fall.

Load up the car and head to the mountains. You can pack a picnic lunch, go a hike, and stop and take pictures. Being an hour and a half from the mountains this is a really fun day trip for us.

Now, if heading to the mountains isn’t possible for you family, just pick a scenic spot near you. Find a state park or beautiful neighborhood. You can take pictures and even collect some leaves. Bundle with and bring hot chocolate along. Take time to stop, look up, and breath in the crisp air.

P.S. This is also a great opportunity to bring another couple along and take pictures for your Christmas cards.

Before anyone drives all the way up to the NC mountains–it is very likely that the leaves are down. We were up there 2 weeks ago and many trees were already bare form the storms and wind that we they have had. Still a fun drive for apples though. The SC upstate is likely at it’s peak today.

    • This is a beautiful picture! We drove up to North Georgia last week and the leaves were awesome and so were the apples and the snow!
