Rainy Day Dinners

We’ve been getting a ton of rain the past few weeks and that means we’re stuck inside more. The last thing I want to do on a rainy summer day is stand in front of the stove for hours.  I like to whip up simple fresh meals, so that we can enjoy rainy day crafts, play board games or have tea parties instead.

This is really helpful, thank you! I was just trying to figure out how to use some of the ingredients I got on sale this week… tomorrow I’m making a twist on Pioneer Beans with smoked sausage, chicken broth, lima beans, pasta and spinach (all on sale from Kroger/Harris Teeter this week minus the beans, which are cheap!)… in a crock pot ;-)

Wow! You have a great family! Mine won’t eat any of those foods. Usually, on a rainy day, I just cook up some hamburgers that I already pattied and froze or some ground turkey spaghetti with garlic bread. I wish they were more into foods like the ones you make! Seems that spaghetti, burgers, and parmesan chicken chunks are about the only things I can get away with these days.
