operation christmas child roundup

After all our planning and stocking up it’s time to finally get your Operation Christmas Child boxes packed and sent to a collection place in your area!! This week is National Collection week, so no matter where you live head over and find a collection site in your area.

Many sites are open during the day for you to swing in and drop off a box.

If you have not packed a box yet, you still have a few days!  This is an awesome ministry sharing joy with kids all over the world.

If you’ve never packed a box check out some tips on what to pack and exactly what OCC is.

Finished ours this weekend. My 6 year old loved picking out things to put in the boxes. She’s always amazed that there are kids out there without stuff animals or even toothbrushes. It’s a great mission.

Spent Saturday morning with my mother packing our 6 boxes! I fill them with deals throughout the year and she pays for the shipping. Great way to spend time together…

    • Finished our 4 boxes this weekend! I am dropping off our churches this week!!

    • I totally forgot about the shipping costs… we are so tight on money right now I can’t afford the cost for our three boxes :( I guess this year we’ll find a local place to donate the items to! At least they’ll still go to kids in need, and my children will still understand we’re helping someone!

You can still donate them to OCC. Alot of people just donate money instead of making a shoebox and those funds go to cover the shipping costs of boxes

      • I would encourage you to still drop the boxes off to be sent over. They have lots of people that donate money to help ship boxes that couldn’t pack them. It all works out in the end!

        • Thanks for your comments, I didn’t know I could still drop off! YAY! I worked all year at finding quality items on great deals, and my kids made really nice boxes!

          • JoR

I meant to do a few boxes but it got past me- but I will send money in to ship boxes. It will work out in the end!

I am so excited to do this for the first time this week with my kids! I think it is a wonderful learning experience!

    • Brandi

Going to be finishing my box up this week and this is our first time doing one and looking forward to showing my kids where their boxes go and let them see the other places in the world that have kids but don’t have as much as they do :)

    • Christy

Do you have to wrap the boxes? I have regular shoe boxes. Thanks!

      • Guest

I sent 25 last year and didn’t wrap any of them. If you do wrap them, I just found out yesterday that you have to wrap the lid separately so OCC can put a pamphlet in about the reason for the season. Don’t let the wrapping stop you. These kids have nothing, so they will be happy with anything!!
