For all of us trying to save money, sometimes the key is when not to buy something rather than figuring out where to get the best price. There are items that, no matter the “sale,” will never be the best price right now. Electronics
If you have waited this long to buy a new TV or computer, then you can wait one more month. Most items will be considerably less as we get closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas, so just hold your horses a little while longer.
Note: We do see great prices over Prime Day weeks, but Black Friday and the end of the Christmas season usually brings retail prices a little lower as they worry about unsold inventory.
Large Home Appliances
The best time to shop for new large appliances is around a three-day holiday weekend and Black Friday. If you can wait, try to wait for prices to drop after Black Friday. People will often return appliances for simple minor cosmetic reasons (like a small scratch that occurred during installation). Those returns will then be marked down a good bit in December and January.
Tools
Most tools only go on sale at Christmas time or Father’s Day, so this is just like electronics and large appliances. You’ve waited this long—just make do one or two more months.
