Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is a great way to use your couponing skills to make a difference in your community. The National Association of Letter Carriers is putting on a Food Drive that makes helping others super easy!
All you have to do is collect non-perishable food items and leave them in a bag by your mailbox TODAY. Your mail carrier will pick them up and take them to your local food bank or pantry to be distributed to those in need in your area!
You can watch it all in one sitting or in segments. You can even share different parts you think a friend may like (or need to hear).
I will still be teaching in person workshops that are longer and more localized with tips and tricks
Want to host a local coupon class:
I have this video available in DVD form and printed copies of the workbooks that can be mailed to you at cost. You can then have someone local answer questions after the video and turn this into your own event! Email workshops@southernsavers.com for more information.
Happy Friday! This has been a long week… but fun. We hit CVS, Publix and Kroger this week, a little crazy for me. I really am a one grocery store a week kinda girl, but I was already in Kroger getting all the mega event items so it’s hard to not grab a few things.
CVS
Total Before Sales & Coupons: $44.72
Total Spent: $16.44
Total Saved: $28.28 or 63%
ECB Remaining: $10
I went solely for the diapers… but grabbed the other deals as well. I was pretty much able to follow the scenario as I planned so that was awesome.
Kroger:
Total Before Sales and Coupons: $84.16
Total Spent: $33.20
Total Saved: $50.96 or 60.5%
This was mostly the free items from the Mega Event and milk. I did have a few fun coupons from calling a manufacturer recently too.
Publix:
Total before sales and coupons: $94.59
Total Spent: $48.00
Total Saved: $46.59 or 49%
I ran in to get potatoes and steaks that was it… I left with a ton of half priced gluten free food I found in the clearance section. I just couldn’t pass it up. I would have only had one coupon for all the gluten free things had I been ready for the deals, so there was no point in waiting just to save $1. The deal that made me the most happy was Tinkyada Rice pasta for $1.49. I know pasta is free for all of us that can handle gluten, but for those that can’t this stuff is normally expensive!
We were right on track budget wise before the Publix trip, but that’s okay. A big week happens every now and then!
More grocery printable coupons are now available! Check the Coupon Database for more savings!
.65/1 Dean’s Heat ‘n Eat dip printable
$1 off Glutino gluten free pantry item (Walmart Manufacturer coupon) printable

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dove Chocolate for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Wednesday night I had the joy of hosting the first ever Dove Mother’s Day live web streamed twitter party. It was definitely unique to be on video and on twitter at the same time, but we all had a great time. We talked about Mom’s, gifts, memorable moments, and chocolate… lots of chocolate!
Some of the top ideas for gifts for more were:
Photo Gifts
Handprint Gifts
Chocolate
Spa Time
We also discussed things for moms that live farther away and the concensus by everyone was to not forget to have skype or internet chat time!
One other big topic was your favorite recipe to make with dove chocolate… careful this will make you hungry… some of the favorites were:
Chocolate Fondue
Brownies
Chocolate Lava Cake
and one person mentioned chocolate bacon… (that would be a first for me)
We had lots of prizes during the party! So congrats to the following folks for winning the Dove gift baskets filled with chocolate, Walmart gift cards and a lot more.
@nikki2kids (“Moms are Special Basket”)
@missmaammeesh (“Moms deserve a day off Basket”)
@beadreamaker (“Movie night on us Mom Basket”)
@SCFrugalFamily (“I Love you Mom Basket”)
