    Free Night Of Theater 2011

It’s time to get your tickets for the 7th annual Free Night at the Theater!

This year they are giving out around 250,000 tickets to shows across the country.  In the south our choices are a little limited but if you are traveling any this could be a fun night out for little if any cost!

Many theaters are doing tickets differently this year, rather than first come first serve you can enter to win tickets and they will notify the winners.  It appears though in most areas you won’t have any problems getting tickets to shows.

If you got tickets last year I would love to know what you thought!

        tanga helicopter deal

Tanga has an Indoor Remote Control Helicopter for $14.99 shipped.  These are fun little gadgets, they usually run for around $25 on various sites, so this isn’t a bad deal to save $10.

We gave a few as Christmas gifts last year and they were loved by all.

Having a great meal doesn’t have to mean picking up take-out or making another grocery run. Hungry Jack wants to inspire creativity in the kitchen, so they teamed up with Kelsey Nixon from The Cooking Channel’s Kelsey’s Essentials to challenge at-home chefs to put down their shopping lists and think ‘outside the box’ when preparing their next family meal.

Hungry Jack sent me a kit to review and it’s awesome!  They sent me everything I need to make a great breakfast including pancake mix, hashbrowns, a grill, a handy smiley face pancake flipper, and an iPad stand so I can easily look up my favorite Hungry Jack recipes while cooking!

I’m not an expert cook, but I can make an excellent cranberry pecan pancake.  So I grabbed the pancake mix, some Craisins from the pantry and some pecans to make our favorite special pancakes!

Now through November 2, 2011, you’re invited to submit an original recipe using Hungry Jack pancake mix, syrup and/or instant potatoes at the Use Up the Box website in various categories. The grand prize is a year’s worth of groceries!

            CVS Official Coupon Policy

It’s been awesome working with CVS the last few months and I love how they listen when we ask for things!  We asked for a printable coupon policy, and as of today they are giving us one!

CVS now has their Official Coupon Policy in black & white (& red) for all of us to consult when there are questions or confusion at the register.

This isn’t a change from anything we’ve known, but it does bring clarity for cashiers and shoppers alike, which I know we are all in favor of!

One thing I really like about it is that it encourages following the specific language on the coupon, which we should all be doing anyway.

Because it doesn’t directly address things like using coupons on B1G1 deals, I would expect to see additional details & specifics in the coming months.  Here’s a quote that also solidifies that: “CVS/pharmacy will continue to enhance the FAQs in the coming weeks to specifically address those questions and add more details”.

For now, enjoy some clarity on issues!

If you have a baby on the way or one toddling around you, then take a second and sign up for (2) FREE magazines: BabyTalk & American Baby.  Both have helpful articles, but also has very helpful coupons!

Thanks to a reader Michelle, I also learned yesterday that American Baby magazine is the source for the fun Walgreens infant care booklet (filled with awesome store coupons).  Both have also had great $10 off or 20% off Amazon coupons in the past!

This Friday & Saturday there is a diaper deal you don’t want to miss at Toys R Us and Babies R Us!!

Huggies Jean Diapers, jumbo pack, $5
-$1.50 off Huggies Diapers SS 8/14 (exp 9/10)
-$2 off Huggies Diapers SS 8/14 (exp 9/10)

Use the $2 off coupon if you have it and get a pack of diapers for $3!!

This is while supplies last, and if it’s anything like last time they will go fast!

If you don’t want to deal with the store or coupons, the deal is also available online.  Make it a better deal by signing up for a free trial of Shoprunner to get free 2-day shipping on any order size!!

Another option: Price match this at Walmart and Target (print the ad here).

                (thanks Thrifty Couple)

We are enjoying the weather, and of course the start of football season.  Tailgating usually involves lots of fried foods and carbs, but it doesn’t have to.

You’ll see lots of cheap chips, dips and hot dog buns over the coming weeks, but stay focused on the healthier sales and get creative!
