Today I did a guest post on the Million Mom’s Challenge website.  This is a group put together by ABC News and a number of other sponsors to help raise awareness of mom & baby issues around the world.

I’m sharing my favorite tip to raise healthy babies today.  Here’s a short excerpt:

Accept the reality around you and enjoy every day!!  My living room may be a wreck, I need to do laundry, sweep, vacuum… the list is truly never ending.  This is just part of life.  Get what you can done, and then go play with your babies.  Lay on the floor and do puzzles, read books, whatever you guys love to do, just enjoy those moments and make them part of every day.

Head over and read the rest of the article and enter to win a great prize pack (including an iPad) when you share your tips.

Also, head over and like the Million Moms Challenge on Facebook.  For every like they receive Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to moms & babies causes around the world.

Thanks for that post!  I found it encouraging as I sit hear taking a moment to eat tortilla chips for lunch, unshowered for 2 days, staring at a house that is not nearly as clean as I would like while my baby finally naps!  Now, to get something done!

      • Debbie

        you should nap

i asked my granma in law the other day how she kept house when she had 5 kids that were all so little at the same time!  she said she did it during naptime.  oh well, guess i’ll still have a messy house!  nap time is my down time!  lol

I agree everything else can wait, spend time with the baby! And a tip for people who want to help out a new mama… We could use help cleaning the house while we hold our new baby not the other way around!

I need to post that as my FB status! he he! So true. Earplugs for unwanted parenting advice should have been on my registry!

Oh my…this was my #1 complaint.  Mom in law would come over and offer to hold the baby while I clean. AAAAHHHH!!! I was too tired to clean.

I am a first time Mom to a now 3 month old. He is a big blessing and a great baby! At 39, I am ever so grateful for that. I love the tips. It’s hard not trying to kill myself to get the house clean, much less spotless. His smile is much more captivating and so much more important. Love the comment about help cleaning instead of help holding the baby!
