Southern Savers was recently included in a list of great money saving blogs on numerous NBC affiliate stations.  If you are just visiting Southern Savers for the first time, then Welcome!

I am a stay at home mom of 3 little folks that are 3 and under.  My family started couponing to help us pay off a loan.  I thought it would be temporary, but after one trip to CVS where I saved $100 and spent .25 cents I was hooked!!  Now I can never go back.  We now have more food in the pantry than ever before and we spend over $400 less a month.

If buying groceries for pennies sounds to good to be true, look through some of our deal lists to see how it can be done and then go to our Getting Started Guides and Extreme Couponer: 101 to begin learning just how you can do it!!

The Regular stores we cover are:

National Stores:

CVS – Full deal list with scenarios every Thursday night
Walgreens – Full Deal list every Friday
Rite Aid – Best Deals every Saturday

Southern Stores:

Kroger – Full list every Sunday
Food Lion – Full list every Tuesday
Publix – Full list every Wednesday morning (early…)
Bi-Lo – Full list every Wednesday

Again welcome! And if you ever have a question, just ask!!

      way to go jenny

    • zombiemommy

Congrats Jenny, you have one of the easiest sites to save out there.

    • Emily

I did recognize your site in the story & was hoping they would mention your name. I was so happy to see your post & find you were linked as part of the story! You deserve it!

    • Sarah P

Hey Jenny! Congrats. I wanted to talk to you tonight, but didn’t get a chance. I’ve been reading your blog for months and finally started to put it to work for my family. Thanks so much for all your hard work. I’m so excited with my savings and can’t wait to get better at it. Right now I’m at about 52% savings.

    • Marie

Congrats!! You’re awesome!! I am embarrassed by how much money I have been wasting over the years. Thank you for all of your hard work.

    • Laura F

I agree with Marie. I can’t believe I ever paid full price for ANYTHING! You make saving so easy! God Bless you for all your hard work and dedication! You’re wonderful!!!

    • Megan Martin

Congrats, Jenny!! I am very happy that you got this much deserved recognition.

    • Stacy

That’s fantastic! Congratulations. You definitely put in enough time to be recognized!

    • I have been using your site for a couple of weeks now and just love it. Like the previous commenters, it is one of the easiest to figure out, and I cannot imagine paying full price for anything anymore. I’ve been recommending it to everyone.

Between your site, MoneySavingMom.com, and GroceryGame.com, I saved 72% on my groceries/household items/toiletries in January. I didn’t track savings last year, since I only started CVS in April 08 and GG in June 08. I know I saved a lot though. My husband is impressed! Groceries have gone up, but our grocery/household budget has been reduced to $250 per month, and I could probably go lower.

Thanks for the info on the deals, and also the Couponing 101 posts. Just AWESOME!!

    • MelRae

      Congrats, Jenny!

Hey, do you have a twitter page and/or a Facebook page? I would be willing to start a group on Facebook “Fans of southernsavers.com” We could write on the wall! And probably get you alot more (well deserved) attention!

    • Jenny

I do have twitter, though this takes up so much time I haven’t figured out where twitter fits into it! Southernsavers is my twitter name.

The facebook page sounds very fun!! If you want to set it up that would be wonderful :) Let me know if you need anything!!

    • MelRae

The Facebook page is up!!! It is called “Fans of southernsavers.com”. Go and join everyone!!!

Jenny, you should have an email from me.

    • Jennifer

      Hi Jenny,
I have so enjoyed your website. Thank you for all of your hard work. Have you ever considered covering Lowe’s Foods? They are based in Winston-Salem, NC and have stores throughout NC I know. They are the only grocery store in my small town that doubles coupons, so that is why would like to shop there more. Right now I am only able to use your Food Lion posts. Just a thought – thanks again!

    • Ma

Wow, Jenny! Just think how much money and hassle you save everyone!

    • Jennifer

Can you add, or do you know of a website that covers Ingles? I love your site.

    • Jill Welch

I rushed home from Walmart to contact some one about my store in Columbus, GA. To my horror, after I the cashier rang up all of my purchases she said that they no longer take internet-printed coupons! The manager came over and confirmed this (after a couple of supervisors went round and round about it). He said it is a new corporate policy. Have you heard anything about this?

    • Jill

I just used some internet printed coupons at Walmart this morning.

    • Gail

Thank goodness I found you!!! I’m new to couponing and I’m soooooo confused! You make it easy to understand!!! TY TY TY :) I’m running to my Facebook acct now!! Did I say TY TY TY yet?!?!?

    • Pam

Thank you for all you do. This site saves me money and is the easiest to use of all the coupon sites I have ever seen. Southern Savers is awesome! Thank you!!

    • Jane

I am very new to couponing – I have probably only ever used about 5 coupons in my life!! It’s all very confusing to me but your beginner’s advice is helpful. What I would like to know is: Can you print coupons from coupon websites like copons.com and use them at your grocery store? When do those generally expire? And, is Kroger the same as Foods Co. or is that a different chain all together?

    • scott

is there a place on your website to chat instantly to other people?

    • jessica

maybe a silly question, but here goes…

can i print coupons in black and white (and have them work!)

my color cartidge just ran out (probably from the billion coupons i’ve printed) and i’m not planning on being anywhere near a place to buy on until i grocery shop next week! i like to do all the shopping at once, since it’s a 20-25 minute drive to wal mart, kroger, publix, etc!

    • Jenny

Yes you can print them in B&W, most actually say valid in black and white in the small print, but even in black and white all the security features like water marks etc will still print. So go for it.

    • jessica

thank you!! i had such good luck shopping yesterday (spent 70, saved 127 -even bought some non-coupon, non-sale items), i cant wait to make my list and get my coupons together for next week! i even handed out your website to a lady at publix and my brother-in-law(19yrs old)! if he starts training now, he’ll make his wife even happier someday! i call this my new hobby, my husand calls it my new addiction – thank you for all your hard work!

    • jessica

okay, i printed a couple out in black and white. the pictures of the product are hard to make out, if not nonexistent, along with other parts. is this normal? i’m thinking of just waiting and making an extra trip to town this week for a color cartridge. sorry to be a bother, i just don’t want to waste my prints on copies that won’t work!!(i printed the ‘test coupons’ of things i knew i wouldn’t use, just to be safe!)

    • Kim

Found a coupon in this week’s PEOPLE mag for a free box of Milkbone dog biscuits. (3/9 issue, pg 27)

    • Sally

This is a wondeful site, but where is Ingles? Why don’t you list Ingles sales?

    • Terri

I’m new to couponing and CVSing. I read your “Getting Started” info. It helped a lot. I noticed under Kroger you may use 2 coupons for one item. Can you do that? I always thought you could only use 1 coupon per item you buy (unless you are buying 2 items, then use 2 coupons.) Am I missing something? I did read your “stacking” info regarding store coupone and manufacturer coupon–didn’t know that one either! I usually shop at Randalls, Kroger, WalMart, CVS & Walgreens. I get my list ready every week–I’m hooked.

    • Jenny

At Kroger you can use an e coupon and a paper manufacturer coupon and a store coupon. You can’t use 2 paper manufacturer coupons though unless you are buying 2 items. In the deal lists I give all the coupons that are available for the item, so you can find which ones you have. There is one deal this week 3/1 that looks like it is using 2 coupons, but really you are buying 2 products so it is fine (Armour meatballs).

    • cathy

i can’t find where to sign up on your website. Also, i have had NO luck printing out coupons…. not sure why… can you help?

    • I’m having problems too on stores useing my printed coupons too and yeasterday after they rang me out I owed them 1.03 and I said for what and they said on your coupons on my resesit it was 8% tax and plus your 8% sale tax here in Tenn. She said it was a new thing

    • Cathy go to where it says welcome to southern savers first time vister and then go to get started.

    • gloria mrazek

do u have a mailing list?

    • Tracy M

Can you only earn one extra buck deal per household per week? I tried to get the GM 3/$10 cereals again today at CVS but the $5 extra buck coupon didn’t print. Thanks! This website is awesome!!

    • Vickie

Where do I sign up for your website or get on a mailing list…I don’t always have good luck printing coupons. Do you know what the problem could be??

    • Susan Eagan

I am new to your site, and I am a little confused about the Quaker Target coupon deal. I tried to print 5 Quaker Cereal coupons off the site and it told me after 2 that I had reached my limit. Then I tried to print the Quaker Granola Bar coupons and Quaker Instant Oatmeal coupons printed instead! So where do I get 3 more Quaker Cereal coupons and where are the Quaker Granola Bar coupons!

    • Karin S.

FYI–noticed Fresh Express salad bags are on sale at Publix this week. In the “Spring Savings” flyer by the enrance of my publix there is a $1 coupon for this item. Good thru April 3.

Thanks so much for your website!!!! Just started couponing and have saved tons of money!! Still learning, but I know my grocery bills have been cut almost 50% and on my first trip to CVS (must admit, i was a bit confused) I spent just $12 for $40 worth of items!!!

    • can you use more then one coupon on one item???????????

    • Billie

I am just getting started but my last 2 trips to the grocery I saved $35 each time!!! All it really takes is a little organizing and planning!! Blessings to you all!

    • crystal

you do not have a way for people to download the “our coupon printer” you should make one way for us to do that frtom your home page so that we can blame it on our computer not your site.

      • Jenny

Are you talking about the download for Smartsource or Coupons.com? I just host their coupons and have no control over their programs or their downloads. I’m sorry if you are having problems printing.

    • Thea

Thank you Jenny!! If only our government could take a page from you!! Thanks for the HAND UP!! (not just a hand OUT) What goes around comes around, I hope you are TRULY blessed!!

    • Deanne Street

Hi! I was using another site and a friend mentioned yours and I am as happy as can be. I have saved over 60 percent this week and frankly got many items I did not have an immediate need for, but could always use and they were FREE! Thank you so much!!!!!

    • lynn
