As we strive to get healthy in our house we are turning to healthy home cooked meals and trying to make better choices. There is one rule my husband makes me stick to though, no matter how healthy I want to make meals they must have meat in them. If I break that rule he is hungry again in an hour and that leads to grumpy husband…
One great change we’ve made is adding more turkey. I feel like a character from Forest Gump, but you’ll be surprised how much you can make with turkey!! My husband wasn’t 100% on board, until he tried it. We followed a recipe on Wholly Guacamole’s site for a Jack & Guac Turkey Burger.
- Jennie-O Turkey Burgers
- Jennie-O Extra Lean Turkey Bacon, cooked
- Wholly Guacamole dip – Fresh Guacamole
- Low-fat Pepper Jack cheese
- Whole Wheat burger buns
We skipped the bun in our house, to fit our gluten free lives. Also if you can find it in your store, check out their new chunky avocado. It’s perfect for this recipe if you don’t want the quac flavor.
Maybe you’re thinking guac doesn’t go on a burger. Well, it’s the thing to do these days! Check out all these amazing pictures and recipes if you don’t believe me!
