I scored big at Publix, my total was $66.00 and only pay $7.00

    VIVA Italia
  • Kris
I do not know where to find the $5 off 20 Viva items coupon. Is it one coupon or what? I printed out the four coupons at the bottom of the Viva page for individual items but where was the coupon stating the $5 deal. The cashier did not know what I was talking about.
  • Maria T
There is small blue booklet wit the picture of the participant products, inside is the $5.00 off coupon when you buy 20 participant products. The LU# 2439 (Publix coupon, you may ask the cashier if she/he can type that code, that is what they do with the Publix coupons.
  • Melissa
Hey, Kris--sorry I did not see your question earlier. My computer (and myself, too) is not firing on all engines today. But, if you haven't found out by now, the $5 coupon was found at "my" Publix on one of those cardboard kiosk-type things near the front of the store. It was located near the bins and shelves of BOGO items, right next to a display of Green Giant canned veggies. You might just have to walk around, or it could be that they ran out at your store and just took it down. Hope this helps. Good luck.
  • Melissa
Hi. I just love "my" Publix--I wish they would use Target coupons, but that is my only real complaint. I went today and used the free gallon of milk coupon with the purchase of 4 Post cereals. The gallon of milk would have been $2.28, but I was given only $1.95 back on my receipt as a "coupon". Should I have been given back the full $2.28, or was there a limit on the coupon? I no longer have my coupon, so I don't know for sure. I only read the requirements for the cereal and milk on there and made sure it was in date. I'd like to know so that I'll know whether to go on my next shopping trip and ask for the 30+ cents back. Thanks.
  • Lisa
Can't believe you are so concerned over 30 cents. I am thrilled with Publix every week, even if they mess something up or disallow a coupon or two. We are saving a FORTUNE through Publix and Jenny's hard work. Let's not mess that up.
  • Jessthere
I dont believe Melissa is messing up by asking for what was advertised even tho is is only 30 cents. I have had one publix disallow coupons direct from the manufactures site for $2 saying they were fraudulant. Was very embarressing for me knowing that they were not. I did however take them to a totally different Publix who not only allowed them but allowed me to use them on BOGO item from the previous week. If you are on a really tight budget you are working just as hard to organize your shopping lists to save every penney you can, thats just my opinion tho.
  • Kim
That's funny b/c when I did this deal last week my receipt said 2.69 when milk was only 2.39 that week. they must program their coupons b/f hand. I'd take it back for sure. You may end up getting 2.28 back in change!
  • Jessthere
The Publix advantage flyer states "Buy 4 Post Cereals 10 oz or Larger and Receive 1 Gallon Milk FREE (Limit one coupon per purchase) Not to exceed purchase price. Customer is responsible for all applicable taxes." I would definetely take your receipt back, I know if something is priced wrong they give it to you for free, not sure about errors by the cashier but worth a try.
  • cmentillo
Thank you, thank you!!! I saved $90 today and only spent $77! That's an awesome shopping day in my book. :)

I also wanted to add that you can find coupons on the Johnsons and Johnsons website. http://johnsonsbaby.com/special-offers-expanded.jsp I had the $3 of 3 coupons and needed 3 of each lotion and shampoo (lots of baby showers coming up). You can only print 2 coupons from the links you have but I went to the site to see if they had some and they do and you can print a few! Just thought I'd pass that along. :)
  • Jessthere
Cumming, GA Keith Bridge Road. I got really frustrated at my nearby Publix last night as I had prepared my list and coupons for the Viva Itala promotion. I put all 20 items together for the cashier to scan first and informed her that I had the $5 of 20 items and she thanked me, she then proceeded to scan all the items and after she had them all scanned she informed that I could not use the $1/4 or $1/2 in conjuction with the $5/20 as both were store coupons. Would have been nice if she had of mentioned this before she went through all the trouble of scanning the items as I politely told here that I did not want any of those items and to just void the transaction. She also suppressed 2 .50 DND coupons which they have never done before. Looks like I will have to travel a little further to go to a more coupon friendly publix.
  • Jessthere
I forgot to mention that the cashier let me know about not using the store coupons together BEFORE she looked at even the first coupon I had to hand to her.
  • nikiben
I just looked at my coupons and at the bottom it only states "one purchase per coupon per customer." All of those coupons were designed to be used together. Or am interpreting it incorrectly...

  • Nicki
The Publix on Buford Hwy and Trammel Rd is great about taking coupons.
  • Jessthere
    Nicki,
Although I have lived in the area for a year now, I have only just started venturing outside my immediate area and shopped at the one on Buford Hwy (is this called Cruise Marketplace?) and GA 400 store both off exit 14 and both have taken all my coupons including competitors like CVS $5/20. If it is Cruise Marketplace you are referring to the manager there one time even let me use coupons from a prior weeks sale that the Keith Bridge Road Publix said they were fraudulant. Crazy that just a few more miles makes a difference in how the stores treat couponers.
  • nikiben
Yes that is the one I shop at and they are all super nice there. So glad they took your coupons. My sister in law actually had the Target near at Marketplace tell her that they coupons she had were scanned!! Just because they were black and white. THAT was unbelievable too.
  • abby_holmes
    Thanks Jenny! :)
  • Carolin
HELP!!! Pet coupon question. I'm printing out the publix pet coupon for the Purina One and the coupon is vey small. It's so small that you can't read the LU# for the cashie to use. I'm wonderig if this is normal. Thanks!
  • pharmSCgirl
I noticed that someone else had this same problem and the manager accused her of coupon fraud b/c she said that she photocopied it. I bought this tonight but I found the actual flier where the sales ads are located. I'm not sure how to fix it to where it will print the normal size. Sorry.
  • donnaelliott
LAKE ELLA PUBLIX TALLAHASSEE - I tried to buy 10 cans of Muir Tomatoes with 5 Viva Italia $1 off 2 Muir products, and the neither the cashier nor the manager would let me use more than one of them.
  • itismedia
I think I may come across sounding like a toddler, but I am sick and tired of going into Publix and not being able to find any of the coupon booklets. They keep the turning display with the green and yellow flyers, the sales flyers, coupons, mags, etc...in the buggy area. I went by today to get my flyers and coupon booklets, BEFORE making my trip because of what happened today always happens. I went in and as soon as you walk in the Viva Italian display is set up and all I can find is the entry forms. I asked at CS and she gave me the last coupon book. Mind you the display wasn't there 2 days ago. I asked her what happened and she said two women came in and each grabbed handfuls and walked out.
It REALLY REALLY annoys me when I do the right thing and never take more than two of any coupon, but others just don't think twice about hogging them all. Last week I was at Target and wanted to buy more soft soap refills. They were 2.49 and had 2.00 off coupons on them. Someone had come in and taken every coupon off of every package. You could still see the shiny square where they were suppose to be.
If you are one of these people that grab all of the coupons or take them off of packages without buying the item PLEASE STOP. It is a lot more satisying when your saving a lot of money WITHOUT cheating!
  • nuworldchick
I have to agree with your comments. I have yet to find either of the two booklets that have come out recently. However, I think it should be up to each Publix to make sure that it can keep up with the consumer demand.Maybe the answer is to only put up a limited amount of coupons and then restock as needed...with a limit. This is the stores responsibility.. and if they run out then I feel they need to honor whatever coupons that are not there that I can not find(.price-wise), by modifying the price.
  • lovincoupons
I am a CS manager for Publix as well as a self-proclaimed couponer/deal-a-holic. Just to clarify: The coupon booklets that we put out (both maufacturer and store coupons) are limited in the number we receive. Part of the deal we make to get the companies to partner & make a coupon, is to DISPLAY them. We hate it when a few greedy apples steal from the whole bunch... but we have to do our part by putting out the display.
We DO NOT receive rebates or credits on modifying the price of an item, only on coupons for items. We DO NOT receive credits or rebates on competitor coupons (they are trash to us, we are trying to keep you from going to said competitors). If you think it's a hassle to not find coupons at your store... imagine being the people who has to explain to you why we have none 2 days into the ad!!! Yikes! And then get a complaint to corporate that we can't manage our inventory... And yes, while a complaint to corporate will get an issue resolved... it will be handled by the same people that you just left... you can call the number on your receipt and get quicker resolution, as well as the managers not having to wait 2 days to find out the associates/other mgrs treated you poorly. Sorry to rant... but we do try really hard to ensure it is "Where Shopping Is A Pleasure"... because we shop here too :)
  • Brooke82
Publix is more generous than I thought! I never realized the stores didn't get reimbursed for competitor coupons. Now that I actually think about it, it makes sense. I love Publix even more now!
  • itismedia
Lovincoupons, I just want to say that I do not hold my Publix responsible for the problem. I hold the greedy people that are probably selling them on E-Bay responsible or the people that are afraid there wont be any so they grab tons only to throw them out a couple of weeks later when they expire. I wish I knew the answer to the problem, I guess I could go to Publix everyday...oh wait, I have too many kids and too much schoolwork to do that! =+)
Thanks for everything Publix does. the Managers at my store are awesome.
  • foxfunds
That is exactly why our Publix has stopped putting the peelies on products, the flyers in the bins, and the tearpads in the store. If you want coupons - you stop at customer service and ask for them. That has made all the difference in the world. And the fact that I now know all of them by name and they know me helps too - nothing like a smile and a "how's your day going" when I go out to shop at local stores.
Maybe you could make a suggestion to customer service and tell them that other Publix stores have started doing this as well. Sorry you are having such a hard time - it's not right.
  • itismedia
That is a great idea. I will suggest it tomorrow when I go into shop. Like you I know many of the cashiers, CS, baggers, stockers and managers and you are right, it makes things so much nicer. I would have no problem at all stopping and getting whatever is out at the moment. I was lucky enough to get that one last Viva pamplet from CS, but I haven't even seen the others.
  • melissa
I've had the same problem and I agree with you. It's not fair to others who are in more need of the savings. Especially when I drive a good distance to get to the store.
  • Carol
I am an associate at a Publix store in middle TN and I can tell you it is VERY frustrating to everyone involved when a few greedy people ruin all the coupon deals for the rest of us. I coupon every week and I hate the fact that "coupon mamas" are getting a bad rep because some people won't be fair. I was told by management that we got 100 copies of the "Game Day" coupon booklet and one lady took 75 of them! We believe she is selling these coupons on Ebay.
  • itismedia
Carol, that would explain why I didn't get that booklet either. I figure that is what these ladies are doing too. I mean it is one coupon per purchase so how can they use that many 5.00/20.00 coupons?
All these booklets that Jenny has listed out lately.....haven't seen any of them!
  • Brooke82
I never even use the coupon booklets but that sounds crazy. People need to be less greedy and share with others. I don't understand why people have the urge to hoard and I never will.
  • itismedia
haha I don't get to very often! =+)
  • itismedia
I am not even saying I am in MORE need, just equal need.
  • Amanda
The Publix in Ooltewah, TN has an Instore B1G1 on the Toll House Cookie Dough.

Just wanted to say that I am a mother of nine and went to Publix and brought @ $300.00 worth of food and paid $90.00. I went to Winn Dixie and brought $200.00 of meat for 100.00. This was a great week for our household! Pembroke Pines, Fl

I am new here...tried to get the Hunt's Sauce printable (play game) coupon. Played the game and clicked print coupon then didn't get a coupon. Tried again then there was no button to click for print coupon after I played the second time. Anyone have suggestions? Also going shopping today at my Publix in Summerville, SC I am nervous as a first timer with all the problems listed below with Publix.
  • ireneY
Your pop-up blocker must be the problem. Try turning it off first.

I have some Nestle Coffeemate coupons that are .50 off 1 they are from Jan.

Weight Watchers Jan/Feb edition has a coupon for ZiplocBags (including Steam) 1.00/2

  • wolverinehokie
We had a great shopping day yesterday. We started off by buying 10 Excedrin for $5 and getting $20 RR. Then we took our RR to Publix. Our "you saved" at Publix was $144.46 after turning in the RR. The remaining balance was $15.06 which we paid for using our Publix gift cards from doing the Amex deal last week. We didn't even have a $5 off $30 coupon, just the $5 off 20 items. We also live in Florida where you have to buy 2 in B1G1 and they don't double coupons.

This site is a life changer. Thank you so much!
  • Christy
Can't find this $5 off 20 items Viva Italia coupon. Where is it?
  • wolverinehokie
There should be a Viva Italia stand. The booklets are small and blue (post card size).
  • learningtobefrugal
Can I use a FLIP and a price match from Walgreens on an item?
  • Your store won't price match unless you are heading to Target or Walmart they are the only stores that do that. Sorry.
  • emilyinalabama
Heres what Ive come up for my first try at this. my plan is to go to publix when I pick my husband up from work tommorrow to make the most of this unusual trip to this town where the closest store is.
my list is 4 classico sauces, 6 muellers pastas, 4 lysol AP cleaner, 2 pillsbury sweet rolls & 2 cresent rolls, 3 okios yogurts, 2-4pks of uncrustables. I have 2 of the 1/off2 classico prntbls, 2- $1/3 muellers pastas prntbls, 4-.50/1 lysol prntbls,2-.40/2 pillsburys coupons and $1/3 viva italia booklet. Which if Im right would mean that Ill come out spending 19.45 with coupons when it should have been 27.32. That doesnt seem like that much of a huge savings to me...am Im doing this right?

    After coupons each will be
    classicos-.74 ea
    muellers-.53 ea
    cleaner-1.09 ea
    pillsburys-1.22 ea
    yogurt-.69 ea
    uncrustables-1.00 ea

Looks like the pillsbury is whats going to cost me so much, should I wait on these till they are cheaper...its not something that I usually buy anyways ...
  • crystalfawn
Emily, There is a $1.00 off manufacturers coupon for the uncrustables and a Publix store coupon for $.55 cents bringing the cost down to $.45 cents total cost. The manufacturers coupon can be found online. The store coupon is in their Healthy Meals Healthy Kids booklet. I live in Florida and got my booklet in the Sunday paper. These 2 coupons are paired together in order to get you that great .45 cent price. Our Florida stores do not double.
  • It also looks as if you are not doubling your Lysol Q's, assuming your area doubles. It does not look like you have enough participating items to use the $5 off 20 Italia coupon.
  • Jenny lists 50¢ off one cresent rolls, which would double, and 95¢ off one sweet rolls. Do you not have these?
  • MRE
PLEASE NOTE: THE PDF COPY OF THE VIVA ITALIA COUPONS CANNOT BE USED IN THE STORE. I DIDN'T REALIZE THIS AND TOOK THE COUPONS TO MY LOCAL PUBLIX. THE MANAGER CAME OVER AND TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE COPIES AND, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED FRAUDULENT.
  • Leah_in_SC
I used the printed q's at my store and had no issues. They come from a Publix sponsored site, so how can Publix not accept them? That's crazy!!! If they didn't expect people to use them, they would not have made them available, or would have marked them in some way to make them unusable if printed. I'm sorry your store would not accept them.
  • john
I used the pdf version of the 5 off 20 at Columbia Publix - the cashier was fine with it - she is a southernsaver user as well!
  • learningtobefrugal
Thanks, I was going to do that. If the manager had told me that I probably wouldn't have gone back (from embarassment).
  • emilyinalabama
I am EXTREMELY overwhelmed at where to start?!? I really dont have any of these stores except the drug stores in my area. Publix and Kroger are within 30 min drive of me, But I do have a Piggly Wiggly of Alabama right down the road, and they double coupons up to .90, but I hate their produce( not very fresh, Walmart has put all our "Good" grocery stores we had out of business:( But they do price matching and do it cheerfully. So would my best bet as far as store to go shopping at be at walmart and use the price match in conjunction with my coupons?

And my other question is HOW should I start, Im seriously overwhelmed here. I NEED to do this, we struggle to provide enough groceries for our house as it is, so this would be an EXTREME help to master. The corrolating sales between stores and who has the best price and such is overwhelming...I cant watch the videos for some reason..its my computer, not the vid. and Ive read through it all.ANY tips and guidance would be GREAT!
  • itismedia
Emily, if you would like to e-mail me at itismedia@hotmail.com I will be glad to communicate back and forth and help you get started. I have been doing this for years and have a few other people I am helping. Just put in your subject line who you are so I will not junk mail you! =+) All of us couponers have to stick together!
It can seem overwhelming at first, but you will get into a groove quickly. The better you get, the more you save...
Hope to hear from you soon,
    Diane
  • wolverinehokie
My advice would be to take your time with it. The first couple weeks we tried this we missed some things or didn't get as good a deal as we should, but we kept with it and had an amazing trip this weekend.

Make sure you get a copy of your Publix add and your Kroger add. They usually appear in the Sunday paper. You can circle the deals you're interested in.

Look at Jenny's lists for Publix and Kroger, but skip the B1G1 since Walmart will not match those. Kroger has some great deals though so figure out which ones you'd want to do. Then match the deals with your coupons and take it to Walmart.

Be patient and don't get flustered is what my husband keeps telling me.
  • Jodi
Went to Publix today and was very pleased! I got $84.15 worth of groceries for $26.22! Bought a few things off the list that I needed and still saved a lot! They took all of my coupons, and I had a $5 off $30 purchase as well as the $5 off if you buy 20 of the General Mills coupon and I used all the store coupons too! Loving my Publix today!
  • CWC
I went to Publix with all my coupons and list for the first time today and saved 57%. I didnt have any problems with my coupons. Thanks for all of the great help and advice.

My Publix in central florida has 6/$2.00 Hunts tomato sauce. Use 2 of the printable $1.00 off 3 Hunt's Products coupon and they are FREE. Does anyone know where to find the uncrustables in the ad? My publix is out of them and I want to get a raincheck but I can't find them in the ad. I have to go back because my milk is leaking and was hoping to get a raincheck when I go back!
  • crystalfawn
    Hi Kelly,
The uncrustables are an advantage buy. You will find the ad in the Publix Spindle where they keep recipes and advantage buy ads. It is titled Sweet Savings and is on the first inside page. That ad states Smuckers Uncrustable 4 pack 3 for $6.00 your choice of flavors. The sale runs through March 5, 2010

    Thank you!
  • Not only did my Gainesville Dawsonville HWY Publix take my Progressive bread crumbs coupons they gave me the full 1.10 off on both containers!

thanks to whoever posted the pedialyte deal using the bogos, the 1.50 off the other two and the 3.00 off publix coupons. i bought 4 for about 1.68. awesome deal. thanks for the idea. at first they weren't going to let me use the coupons and i was still going to do the deal. as i was walking to the car, the same lady chased me down and handed me the 3.00 for my two 1.50 coupons and said she was wrong. i love publix!!! they are so awesome.

Can anyone help me find the crisco oil coupon. I followed the link but cannot find it. Is it possible that it is not available in my Florida zipcode of 32779? Thanks!!!
  • Hi. I am curious. I drove over 60 miles round-trip this morning to get the Charlotte Observer in hopes of having all of the coupons that were posted. I have only looked through the SS, but I do not have them all. I was thinking that maybe it was because I went to a small town about 40 miles from Charlotte and maybe they do not have the same coupons. The outside of the paper said "$193 in coupons inside". If there is anyone here who gets the Charlotte Observer from the immediate Charlotte area, would you please tell me what yours said. I need to figure out if it is worth it for me to make this drive. I normally drive about 28 miles to get the Greenville News. I will be watching for the Greenville news variations to see if they are the same as what I got. Thanks for any help.

On the viva Italia coupons, the one for the $1.00 off 2 cans of specialty corn, the corn pictures is on sale for B1G1 at my Publix for $0.85! That's an overage of 15 cents per 2 cans....

Thanks for the great plan! I got $116 worth of groceries for $52 during my trip to Publix today. Yay!

I'm sorry if this has been posted, but I don't have time to read through all 5000 comments. Has anyone been able to print the coupons from the publix site? They print so tiny that you can't even read them.
