Walmart is my go-to these days for clothes – athleisure, every day outfits, and even event-worth dresses! These are my current picks for every event: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve dinner with friends, date night, conference meeting, and mom’s night out for dinner. And they are all on sale! These won’t last long so snatch one or 5 of them up.

Free Assembly Women’s and Women’s Plus Striped Drop Waist Shirtdress with Long Sleeves, Sizes XS-4X $18.36 (reg $34) I have this dress in “flying duck teal rain” and it is subtly old South eclectic yet very timeless. The intricate buttons and the fabric quality look and feel as if I paid $250 for it on King Street. I recently wore it with these shoes to a fine dining restaurant in Washington DC for a friend’s birthday dinner. Bonus points for it being flattering to your figure. Okay, I’ll hush about this dress now.
Free Assembly Women’s and Women’s Plus Sleeveless Tweed Mini Dress, Sizes 0-28 $12.85 (reg $34) This is perfect for the holidays! If you’re in a state that experiences cold weather, a cardigan will pair well with this dress and boots!
Free Assembly Women’s Belted Smocked Waist Denim Midi Shirtdress, Sizes XS-XXL $23.94 (reg $38) This long sleeved beauty comes in two colors – I love them both!
Scenario Women’s and Women’s Plus Tiered Hem Dress with Long Sleeves, Sizes XS-4X $11.82 (reg $27.98) This may be the perfect fall dress!
Scenario Women’s and Women’s Plus Fit and Flare Mini Dress, Sizes XS-4X $4.85 (reg $12.98) A classic black comfy dress you can pair with a blazer or cardigan or throw on sneakers with it. I have this and love it!

Looking for a cheap way to get out of the house or a fun gift for a family? Groupon has some great local deals right now, and a few of them get even cheaper with a promo code. Here are five favorites from across the South.

Georgia Aquarium – Atlanta, GA
If you haven’t been, this aquarium is a MUST! Seeing the whale sharks at the Georgia Aquarium never gets old, and right now you can save on general admission. Tickets are $49.99 (reg. $70.77). Use code FUN to take another $1.50 off, bringing it to $48.49. The aquarium is in Centennial Park District downtown, so you can pair it with a walk through the park or a stop at World of Coca-Cola.

Carowinds – Charlotte, NC
Single-day tickets to Carowinds are about half off at $41.57 (reg. $84.23), or $40.39 with code FUN. The park sits right on the NC/SC state line at 14523 Carowinds Blvd. A great deal for cooler days when you aren’t sweating walking across the park.

Great Wolf Lodge – Concord, NC
GWL is always a big hit for families! Did you know can spend a day at Great Wolf Lodge’s indoor water park without booking a night? Single-day passes are $60 per ticket (reg. $84). You can buy 1, 2 or 4 passes, and each order comes with a 1-topping pizza and a 2-liter soda for the group, plus $40 in arcade credit per reservation. It’s at 10175 Weddington Road in Concord, about 20 minutes from uptown Charlotte. Because the water park is indoors, it works any time of year. Two things to know: you have to register your reservation online at least 24 hours before you go, and the pass is only good on the date you pick.

ICE! featuring The Polar Express at Gaylord Palms – Kissimmee, FL
This sounds magical! Want something that feels like Christmas in Florida? ICE! is a walk-through holiday display carved from about 2 million pounds of ice, and this year’s theme is The Polar Express. Tickets are $23.09 (reg. $34), or $22.49 with code FUN. It’s at Gaylord Palms Resort, 6000 W. Osceola Pkwy in Kissimmee. Bring a jacket, because it’s kept at 9 degrees inside!

Bowlero – Richmond, VA
Bowling is a family night that works in any weather. At Bowlero on W. Broad Street in Richmond, a bowling package with shoes included is $39 (reg. $65.39). Use code FUN and it drops to $31.20. Bowlero has more than 100 locations, so check whether there’s one near you too.

Walgreens Deal (ends 11/14):

Walgreens Food Storage Bags, B1G2

I realize I’m late to the game on this since Southern Living wrote about it on the first day of October, but… it’s worth notating that Publix has a new, limited edition rotisserie chicken flavor – Sweet & Spicy Chili! It caught my eye as I was spending my wild Friday night in the aisles of Publix.

My usual go-to flavor is mojo, but I couldn’t help myself but to try this one! Here’s what this flavor would pair well with:

A standalone dinner – pair it with a pack of my favorite rice and black beans along with avocado or guacamole. Side note – we cook rice and black beans regularly and I always stock up on Amazon. Pro tip: add chopped red onion and red wine vinegar to your pot at the end for a brighter flavor.

Chicken salad – shred it for a fun chicken salad! I would probably do a curry chicken salad with this flavor.

White Chicken Chili – this is my go-to comfort dish in the cold months! I could literally eat it daily. This limited edition flavor of chicken would only enhance the slight “kick” in this chili.

Have you grabbed this flavor yet? I’d love to know what you thought.
