It was announced yesterday that the Entertainment Book company filed for bankruptcy and had to layoff over 500 employees. While this is surprising, please don’t panic. If you have a 2013 book, or even if you buy a 2013 book in a local store in the future, the coupons are all still good. These are not like grocery coupons, which are reimbursed after use. These coupons are really an advertisement paid for by the store that issues them.
They paid Entertainment Book to be listed in the book, but all the coupons that are redeemed are just taken off the top of a purchase at the time they are used.
Some are saying that orders will be canceled etc. on books ordered online, really most of that is speculation. Remember filing for bankruptcy doesn’t always end a business, and they may use this to regroup and decrease costs to be more a profitable company.
For now though, go and enjoy the coupons you’ve already got!
