If you are planning to go on vacation here is a packing list to help you pack everything you need. It’s cheaper and takes less time to buy what you need at home and take it with you.
It gets expensive to run out to tourist area grocery stores to buy all the things you need or forgot. This list is targeted at those who plan to stay in condos, but can be used for other trips as well.
The food items will vary from family to family. They will be based on personal preferences and your menu plan. The best thing to do is map out what you plan to cook, make a grocery list, and take what you will need with you. You can go here for healthy menu planning ideas.
If you plan to dine out look at Restaurant.com for great deals at local restaurants.
You can see the vacation packing list here.
Packing Tips
Cold Items
For cold items you will need to pack an ice chest. A great idea is to buy dry ice at a grocery store. It’s inexpensive and will keep your items really cold for hours. Be sure to put something like a towel or cardboard between your dry ice and food though or else your food will be frozen solid for days.
You can also pack a smaller cooler with things like sandwiches and cold drinks for the car ride. It’s cheaper (and healthier) than buying fast food plus you can have a fun picnic.
Dry Goods
What you purchase in this category is mostly based off your menu plan, but I included some general things to grab. For things you already have on hand you can pack it in a smaller container to save space while still avoiding buying extra.
Household Products
With paper products you may not want to take the entire case. To save space in the car break apart big packages and only take what you need.
Using paper plates and cups for some meals or snacks is a great way to cut down on dishes, but if you’d rather save money and help the environment you can skip them and use what the condo provides.
What are some things you always pack ahead to take on vacation?
