Cow Appreciation Day!

Tomorrow is a special day… you get to dress up like a cow and get free food.  I know we are all free from worrying about what people think of us since we hold up every grocery line we get in, so you guys can do this.

Head to Chick-fil-A tomorrow dressed like a cow (”fully dressed”) and get a free combo meal.  Or go in with some cow attire, headband, scarf, etc. and get a free entree.  For the full rules go here.

Chick-fil-A is even making it easy on us giving us a dress up starter kit.  (I can see this being big with the 4 year olds around here).

(thanks to everyone that emailed!)

Just to let you know the Arbys coupon expires tomorrow
  • Oops, forgot to finish the story.

My 10-year-old son kept raving about how he couldn't believe they each got their own fries, and they each got their own drinks! Reason is: cheap-o mom usually splits one fry and gets water for everyone! Ha Ha.
  • My 3 kids and I went to CFA for lunch. Not only did the kids have a great time making their costumes, eating their free CFA sandwiches, and playing on the playground, but the staff also came around with free samples of their new peach shakes, complete with whipped cream! Love CFA.

(Funny side note: My 10-year-old son
  • This would make for a great photo contest! We should all send in pics of our "herds"!

And I forgot the most important... Thanks Jenny!! I wouldn't have even known about this event and your comment " I know we are all free from worrying about what people think of us since we hold up every grocery line we get in, so you guys can do this" is SOOOOOOO true! Thanks Again

My girls' preschool went for lunch. They had on cow smocks. They were so cute. We had a blast. We plan to go Princess night next Saturday.

We decided last minute to do this with a friend. Daddy's old t-shirts with black cutouts & the sign from the online link. Add a homemade headband with ears and some white & black face paint from last halloween and the girls were a riot! My daughters (8 1/2 &6) got out thier white "sunday" shoes and put white socks on thier hands and we were good to go. Funny looking, but they had a blast!

One week this summer we are going to see if we can fill a week with "free" activities for each day. Wednesday we'll be at Arby's!
  • We went for breakfast and lunch!!!

    Why not?!

We went this morning and my daughter wore a white shirt she painted black spots on and got a 4 count chicken mini for free! We're going back at lunch! :)

Mooooo! This is great - we are working on out spots and cowtails now!
  • Elizabeth
We are going tonight, me, my dh, and 4 boys. We also have no shame for free food. I was surprised that my dh was willing to join in the fun, but he is all about it.

What fun! Wish we had a Chick Filet here!

We can't wait. My husband is even willing to do it! Anything for free chicken!! Hoping I can keep the spots on my toddler long enough to get her some free food though! Haha!
  • My dh and I and our two boys did this last year...we have no shame when it comes to free food. They loved us and took our picture to put up on their bulletin board...lol

    Tiffany,
Go to the "Great Links" on the right side of this page. Choose Extreme Couponer 101. Then scroll to the second page. You should find a post called: Extreme Couponer 101: What's a Good Price? This post has been wonderful for helping me know when it's time to stock up.
  • Correction: Its supposed to say wait a week not wait a wait!
  • Tiffany
Jenny is usually pretty good about letting us know when a good time to buy certain items is. Usually on weekly ads she will say "will be cheaper on bogo" or "wait a wait for this to be on a better sale" and so forth.
Always look for her "need it now" blogs, she will tell you what she thinks is a great deal.
Generally, Publix has its sale flyers every 6 to 8 weeks, so if you see BOGO or sales that can last you that long, stock up until the next one...

Hilarious, Jenny! My husband happens to be off tomorrow. He and the kids (ages 2 and 4) can spend the morning working on their costumes and we can head out for lunch!
I love that you come up with such interesting and fun "deals!"
    Keep up the good work,
    Amy

Hi! This message is for Jenny or anyone else who might be able to answer it...
I am new to this couponing business and am trying to understant the cycle thing. You say only to buy things when they are the cheapest of the cycle. How do you know where the item is in the 6-8 week cycle? Is it different for every item? Some guidance would be great!
