At long last here are the Kroger deals for the week. This list is very long! There are lots of added unadvertised deals for the mega event and just other things I saw when I was out. The Mega Event is on Frozen items only, Buy 10 Get $5 off instantly. There are some very good deals, most of the items were marked down significantly for the sale, plus the instant savings plus coupons… it makes me excited.

Do you know if you can use the Huggies shortcuts e-coupons for pull-ups on Huggies Overnights?

I would probably say no. E coupons are very specific to the product they are intended for so you will probably find that it doesn’t come off.

I have used the Huggies Shortcuts e coupon on the Overnights. I don’t think you can use it for Pull Ups though, the wording is any package of Huggies diapers. Shortcuts does have a Pull Up ($2 off) e coupon too.

The Reach Dental floss is on sale for $1.34.. There is a .50 coupon. Not as good of a deal as a few weeks ago when it was 10 for 10 but if you missed out and need some. Here you go!

I saw that the Bumble Bee tuna is marked at $.99 and there’s a $1 off coupon… I just wanted to let people know that my Kroger will not take a coupon that give you overage and they will not adjust it down. My Kroger is VERY coupon friendly, so I thought that others might have trouble with this as well.

I used this coupon yesterday. I bought 2 pouches of tuna and had 2 coupons. The cashier wouldn’t let me use 2 of the same coupons in one transaction. She said it’s a new policy. So I just split the transactions and paid 2 cents of tax for each. I’m not sure how this benefits them since they have to waste ink/paper for another receipt. Oh well. :)

How do they expect you to participate in their mega sales if you can’t use 2 or more of the same coupons in one transaction? So are you telling me if you have a cart full of groceries, they ring them up, then you hand them your coupons and they drop that bomb on you that you can’t use multiples of the same coupon? I’d tell them to void the whole sale, re-ring the items I would like to buy with their new coupon policy and then they can return all the others to the shelf. It seems like that would create a major backup at the checkout lines.

It is only on printed coupons that have the same bar code. If you have 2 of the same coupon, but printed them from different sources, you can still use both. I am just happy they take coupons printed off the internet at all.

Unfortunately, my Kroger (Nashville area) doesnt have the tuna for .99, it is $1.39. I suppose the rent is higher so some items are priced a little different. On another note, they did allow me to have some overage on my trip tonight. I had a $2 off Huggies coupon and did receive a penny overage.

Is the $1.39 the 5oz or the 2.5oz? The .99 price is for the 2.5oz, but not all stores carry that size.

My Kroger does not have the tuna on sale for .99…its at 1.39. Hey I’m not complaining. 39 cents for tuna is still a great buy but I wonder why its higher than the .99 you’ve posted. I couldn’t find it in the Sunday sale circular. ??

I just went to the Kroger in Irmo, SC and was told that I could not use the $1 coupon for the tuna either. She told me that it is their policy that they do not give food away for free. Not quite sure I understand that logic when they advertise B1G1 and they get the $$ from the manufacturer! Anyone know of a Kroger in the Columbia area that accepted this coupon?

I saw this deal looking over the ad: the Hershey’s giant candy bars (I think just regular and special dark) are $1.25. Use the $1/1 Hershey’s Special Dark Bag or Extra Dark Bar or Bag from 9/27 SS to get them for .25 each. (Unless “extra dark” is a new product that the sale doesn’t include.?)

I’ve been wanting to mention to anyone who might not already be familiar with major sales cycles that October and March are traditionally the two months for the best overall sales on frozen foods. March is designated Frozen Food Month and October is the end of the main harvest season. It was sort of an “Out with the old; in with the new” time for the producers.

I like weeks when I’m not running super short on any necessities and nothing much in the sales excite me. The Boca Burgers are the one item that most interests me, but even they won’t be much of a draw if I don’t have room for 10 packs. Even rocks on top of the deep freeze can only compensate for so much.

Does anyone know if you can load mulitples of the cellfire coupons and how? I have several Betty Crocker cookie mix coupons, but only one cellfire coupon would load. Any suggestions?

You can only load one. If you get multiple Kroger Plus cards and register them, you can load one onto each card. Also, shortcuts.com will let you load a new one each time one becomes available so you could have an overlap (for instance, I had a Pull-ups coupon loaded, then a new one was released, so I loaded it, and had two on there because neither had expired yet). I think they load new ones once or twice a month, and they usually don’t expire for a month or two. I’ve never tried to buy two of the same item in one transaction; even if I have two loaded to my card, I do separate transactions.

At my Kroger, the taquitoes were not on sale. I thought it was a really crazy cheap price when I saw it on here, but only the taquito crunchers are included. Oh well.

I know it’s probably been covered 100 times before, but can anyone tell me if Kroger takes competitors coupons. I went to Ingles and tried to give them a comp. Q and they refused it stating they have never taken comp Q’s, although I know I have given them some before with no problem. I just don’t want to look silly when I go to Kroger tomorrow.

I wanted to ask for some advice. I’m a meal planner and had always avoided Buying anything that wasn’t neccessary for that two weeks I was shopping for. We live on a very tight budget and I can’t figure out how utilize coupons and sales without driving myself mad at all the info and not really buying groceries with a meal plan in mind. I’m scared to use my grocery budget money and have a well stocked pantry but with not reaLly anything that goes together or is full of preservatives or overley unhealthy SOS!!the sheer amount of info for different stores, deals,and trying to remeber to get a paper let alone trying to remeber to go to all the online places is making my looney.HELP!

Emily, I don’t know if this will help you or not, but I think and shop the opposite way. Instead of planning meals and then going shopping to get those items, I just buy what’s on sale that week (I have 4 different stores to choose from), and whatever I come home with, I match up for meals. It’s a little harder when first starting, but once you build up a nice stockpile, you won’t have to pay full price for hardly anything ever again! For example, if pasta is on sale and ground beef is on sale, I will buy them (and freeze the ground beef), holding onto it until the sauce goes on sale. Then I would make spaghetti or baked ziti or whatever. You save a ton more money doing it that way than making meal plans and trying to find the items you need on sale. I’ve pretty much cut my grocery bill in half, and I rarely run out of something and need to pay full price anymore. Good luck!

I make dinner based on what is on sale too. I usually only shop at Publix. Like you, trying to remember all the rules for every store is just too much. I went to Publix yesterday and paid 54.87 for $187.03 of groceries.

Emily, my biggest advice is to start small. Focus on one store and then, when you feel comfortable, branch out to a second store. I keep an eye on five stores but generally only shop at two or three in any given week.

If the idea of trying to build a stockpile is overwhelming on your budget, here are a few ideas. (I think Jenny probably has a section on building your stockpile, but I’m not looking very in depth right now.)
-Try to cut a few dollars a week from your budget. After a couple weeks, use those leftover dollars toward building a stockpile. If drugstores are one of the places you want to start shopping (say, CVS) then you should only need the cash sum on your first purchase: after that one, roll your ECBs to the next purchase and don’t buy more than what your ECBs will allow.
-Ask for a gift card to get you started (ask families members at the next gift-giving holiday). If you can get even $25 on a grocery or drugstore gift card, that can be where your stockpile starts. Use it to buy items with ECBs, RRs, SCR or manufacturer mail-in rebates. Then when you get the rebate money (or ECBs or RRs) use those dollars to buy more–without having to dip into your weekly budgeted amount. I’m not a cash or envelope budget person, but maybe you could take the ECB/RR/cash from rebate check and put it into your grocery envelope in addition to the normal amount, or maybe put it in a separate envelope for your stockpile. Jenny also sometimes does gift card giveaways, so enter those!

Also, as far as “not really buying groceries with a meal in mind” . . . they key is to figure out how to make meals with the items on sale + what you have on hand. Don’t waste your budget on cheap fillers and realize there’s nothing left for “real” food. Maybe one week, produce is so cheap that you can buy a couple weeks’ worth without going over your budget (maybe have to freeze some), and then the next week, skip a produce purchase and instead buy extra of whatever is cheap that week. After a while, you’ll have a couple (or many) meals’ worth of meat, bread, etc in your freezer, and you won’t have to worry so much about a “balanced” shopping trip.

I received a catalina in the Atlanta area describing a Pilsbury promotion. It states: Buy any Pillsbury Refrigerated Baked goods between 10/5 and 11/1

Buy (4) and get $2.00 off
Buy (5) and get $3.00 off
Buy (6) or more and get $4.00 off

This would be a catalina that prints off to use on your next purchase. Combine it with the deals and the $1.00 coupons and it would be way cheap.

I just went Krogering at the Howell Mill location in Atlanta. I had my 10 items for $5 off and a few other things and the cashier just couldn’t figure it out. He told me I had to go buy some more items, and started ringing up more things, until he said the $5 came off. I was holding up the line, so I just checked out and went to customer service, and they sorted it out just fine. I got credit for all coupons too. So……either the really nice checkout guy is not up to speed on this sale, or the machines aren’t giving the right credit. My advice, if you have the time and patience, have them ring up the 10 sale items separately, so they only have to count to 10, and count your coupons before you give them to the cashier. Then check your receipt to make sure all of them rang up! Good Luck. At the end of it all, I did get some great deals. Thanks Jenny for all of your hard work!

E.g.–I have a paper coupon for the Crest Advanced Seal Strips $10 off and on the P&G e-saver website there is also one for $10 off. Does that mean I could essentially get that item for $20 off?

Newbie here! I’m wondering if I need a raincheck for each item or if I can get multiple items with one. I’m in IN, so our ads start on Thursday. I have 12 pizza roll coupons and they were out, so I asked for a raincheck. Can I only get one box with that?

I’ve only ever gotten a rain check once and when I did, I was asked how many of the item that I wanted. I would just call and ask the question. If might be different with different stores. Unless there is a limit on the item, there shouldn’t be a limit on the number that you can buy with the rain check, unless it’s written on it.

For you bakers out there…Fleishman Yeast packs are a good deal right now. There are 40/1 coupons out there. Also..a 50cent catalina. They are $1.99 per pack right now…so with the catalina and the coupons, that makes it only 70cents a pack. I was a able to buy 2 packs and get 2 catalinas. I’m stocking up and freezing mine.

i know you can stack e-coupons with paper coupons, but i was wondering if you could triple stack shortcuts, cellfire, and paper coupons. for example i have a huggies coupon on shortcuts.com, a huggies coupon on cellfire.com and a paper huggies coupon. i thought you could use them all, but lately on my receipts i have only seen the dedcution of my paper coupon and 1 of the ecoupons, not both e-coupons. do you think this is right? what have you encountered.

No, this hasn’t been working for me either even if I buy 2 of the items. I had a shortcuts coupon for .75 off cocoa puffs and the same one on cellfire. I had a paper coupon for $1/3 GM cereals. I got 2 boxes of cocoa puffs and 1 box of Trix. Only the shortcuts coupon and my paper coupon came off even though I bought 2 boxes of cocoa puffs.

Today was my first time at my 3 stores with this “program”. Kroger, in particular has an issue. On my receipt, how can I tell where it took of an “E-COUPON”? I had Cellfire and P&G and see notihing. I’m so disappointed. Is there a “code” to make it clear?

Instead of showing on the bottom like paper q’s, the E-coupon deduction shows in the body of the receipt above or below the item that it attaches to. There will be a little code next to it to show whether it was a CF or PG q.

Thank you!!! I am having the saddest problem with Cellfire and P&G. Neither of the “e-coupons” came off my receipt. I emailed both websites and no reply from cellfire and a reply from P&G. After much “ado” P&G agreed to put $4 on my card to use on ANY PRODUCT. Well, it still doesn’t work. No $4 discount on 3 visits now and they have not replied to this issue. They clearly have my # as it prints out on my “shopping list”. When I go in Kroger, I simply key in my home phone # to get my card discount. this shouldn’t make a difference since I still get sale prices that Kroger offers. So I know Kroger is “reading” my #. What can I do? Any suggestions, now.

So, i have gone in twice to our local Kroger store and tried to stack a man. coupon and a comp. coupon and they have told me that there are too many coupons versus the amt of products. i told them that it’s called stacking coupons and they said it was fraud. HAHAHA too funny!! emailed corporate this morning and waiting to hear back from them. not shopping there any more at this point.

You CAN stack a “paper” coupon (either one that you print off the computer OR one that you clip from a coupon insert) with an E-coupon (coupons that electronically load onto your Kroger Plus card).

But, if the original comment is talking about stacking a manufacturer coupon (i.e. from the Sunday inserts) with a computer printable, then Kroger does consider that fraud and does not allow it in its coupon policy.

My Kroger in Spring Hill, TN has 1/2 gal milk 10/$1. I just bought the last 1/2 gal of skim milk that they had, and was able to get a 30 day rain check. Also, they had organic Fiju apples on sale for $1.28 lb, but didn’t have any in their produce department showing to be on sale; the produce manager let me get whatever kind of apples that I wanted for that price. I love the Port Royal Kroger store in Spring HIll.

My Kroger in Mount Juliet, TN had the Healthy Life 100% Whole wheat bread on sale for $1.29 a loaf and with my doubled 50 cent coupon I got them for 29 cents a loaf!!! Of course, I bought 6 loafs! See if your store has the same deal.

I am frustrated with the shortcuts coupon situation. I usually have all of my items scanned, then my Kroger card scanned, and then I give them my coupons. I have gotten home three times now and realized that my shortcuts coupons have not been deducted. Does anyone have any insight? I am tired of wasting my time loading coupons only to have them not work :-(. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Carol, I’m in Old Hickory, TN and go, mostly to the Kroger in Hermitage on Leb. Rd. Ever since loading “e-coupons” from the get-go to my card, they have never ever worked!!!!! Is that what you are referring to as well? I emailed cellfire and never rec. a reply and have had 2 emails back from P&G and what they told me wasn’t true. They put $4 the first time back on my card to use for “ANY PRODUCT”. So, 2 times I have been there and neither time did $4 come off my total. I have emailed them about this issue and have NO REPLY. I don’t want to try again until I can get some feedback as well. But, perhaps we’re having the same problem.

I bought tons of the Pillsbury rolls during last week’s sale and didn’t receive any “save $2 on your next order” coupons. I assumed they would print out.
