It’s the end of the month, which means it’s time to share my monthly meal plan. Even though the thought of planning a whole month out might seem overwhelming, I like having a framework for the whole month. That doesn’t mean we don’t flex when we need to or switch meals for certain nights, or sometimes just throw the plan out the window and have boxed macaroni and cheese. But making the plan ahead of time definitely saves time over the course of the month, and it makes grocery shopping easy. Many of the items for these meals are things I already have in my pantry, fridge, or freezer that I’ve bought on sale and stockpiled. The remaining ingredients I’ll hope to buy at as low of a cost as possible!

September 2019 Monthly Meal Plan

I’m falling back on some of my Southern Savers favorites this month like grilled brown sugar mustard glazed salmon,30-minute chili, and broccoli cheddar soup. These are recipes that the whole family loves and that are super easy to throw together, making for easier nights when our schedule starts picking back up after the summer break.

I’m also excited to try some new recipes this month. I’ve really enjoyed the blog The Frugal Girl over the past couple of years, and her Japanese pork noodle soup looks delicious and simple. Another recipe site I’ve found more recently is Frugal Hausfrau, and so far everything we’ve tried from her site my kids have loved! Her ground beef noodle bake is simple and looks like it could easily be frozen or even taken to a friend to bless them!
