  • SC = Store Coupon

Coupon Terms
  • WYB = When You Buy
  • B1G1 = Buy One Get One Free
  • .75/1 = 75 cents off one item

Shopping List Tips

I’m so glad to see that so many of you love the new shopping list feature!

There have been a few things that folks have asked to have changed and we are working on it.  For now, here are a few quick solutions:

Font too small:

  1. Switch your browser to Firefox, it will show up larger
  2. In Internet Explorer, go to File, Print Preview and then change the box from “Shrink to Fit” to 100%.

Don’t Like the Italics:

  1. Switch to Firefox, you won’t see any italics.
  2. Switch to Safari, no italics there either.
    (sorry there aren’t any other options here, but this is the easiest fix for us)

In case Firefox is new to you, it is another web browser that is free.  You can download it here.  It also comes in handy if you have any problems printing coupons, since the first thing to try is switching web browsers.

    the printer icon disappears when the page is finished loading, how can I prevent that from happening?

    Maureen, the gray create shopping list button at the bottom is what you should use.

    As a web designer I would love to see everyone switch to using Firefox over Internet Explorer. …but I work around Internet Explorer’s deficiencies all day every day, so I’ll see what I can do about the tiny text and italic issues tonight. :)

    If the font is too small, you might also try holding the CTRL key and scrolling up and down on a scroll mouse wheel to adjust. This works in most browsers. In Internet Explorer, you have options under the VIEW menu to zoom in and/or change the font size (similar options in those other browsers). You need not switch browsers to adjust these settings! (Though in general Firefox is a better browser, IMO.)

    Maybe you should mention that after you create the list, if you go to print preview you can select a 100% view instead of “shrink to fit.” I’ve noticed from other posts that several of us are having the same problem with small font, and that fixes it for some.

    Jenny, I have windows XP home edition and if I change web browsers to either of the two you suggested can you change back after printing coupons, etc? Or do you have to change the browser selection everytime you print something?

    After you “create your shopping list” you click on File Print Preview and change the output to 100% or more, and it will print larger. I like landscape. Do this instead of the “Print my shopping list” button.

    Bobbie, In firefox, there is an IE view add on. If you load this, then all you have to do it click on the icon on bottom of screen to switch bacck and forth between firefox and IE. Hope this helps.

    Bobbie,

    You can have multiple browsers on your computer, you can even run Internet Explorer and Firefox at the same time and be viewing Southern Savers in both!

    To keep your default browser as it is, just say no when the new browser asks if it should be your default. If there’s a “don’t ask again” type of checkbox, check it and you won’t have to worry about it from then on.
