We love a great cookout and Memorial Day is the perfect opportunity to plan a fun gather with delicious food!  Let’s all kick off the summer with a cookout. Whether you’re hosting it yourself or going to someone else’s house, all of these ideas for Memorial Day recipes should fit the bill.

And for beverages, there’s only one option—make southern sweet tea!

Southern Savers Memorial Day Recipes

You can start your meal off with a fun appetizer—grab some chips and make one of these dips!

This onion chip dip is similar to what you can buy pre-made at the store, but way better!

For a lighter option, try this yummy pico de gallo.

For your main dish, make one of my favorite chicken recipes.

When it comes time to grill, this is my favorite grilled chicken!

Another option is to buy a rotisserie chicken and make this yummy chicken salad.

If you go with the grilled chicken, you can top it with one of my favorite homemade accompaniments.

The grilled chicken is good by itself, but some people just need BBQ sauce at a cookout!

Another delicious option to top chicken is this mango salsa!

For sides, summer is the perfect time to go with a salad or a recipe using fresh produce you can get from the farmers market.

My all-time favorite summer potluck dish is this creamy macaroni salad!

Another pasta salad option is this Greek pasta salad.

Along with a pasta salad, you could serve this succotash made with fresh produce!

One of my other favorite potluck salads is this creamy broccoli salad. One word: bacon!

Then, of course, dessert! I have tons of dessert recipes I’ve made over the years, but the ones below would be perfect for an almost-summer cookout.

This cinnamon apple crisp just screams summer flavors.

If you’re slammed for time, this banana creme pie comes together really quickly!

Caramel coconut pie is another dessert option that is very simple (and this recipe makes two pies!).

Mandarin pineapple dream is a Southern potluck staple!

If none of the other desserts stand out, you can always go for homemade popsicles!
